III URL Day for the promotion of the 2030 Agenda «Towards more just, peaceful and inclusive societies: youth and SDG 16»
IQS-URL (Via Augusta, 390. Barcelona)
The Russian invasion of Ukraine, now more than a year ago, has intensified the global perception that we live in a world seriously affected by the violence of war, where the discourses of war, the rhetoric of rearmament and the paradigm of military security seem to have gained a new prominence.
Apart from Ukraine, more than thirty countries around the world - especially in Africa and Asia - are currently experiencing situations of warlike confrontation. Likewise, the role of numerous civil society organizations, women's groups, interreligious dialogue groups and the role of the United Nations highlight an intense and diverse range of peace-building initiatives, diplomacy, resistance to violence and citizen activism.
In this global context of contrasts, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16 of the 2030 Agenda calls for "promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, providing access to justice for all, and developing effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels". In fact, this goal has been identified as an "SDG plus" from various quarters, highlighting the centrality of peacebuilding in the achievement of the other SDGs of the Agenda.
The III URL Day for the promotion of the 2030 Agenda, entitled "Towards more just, peaceful and inclusive societies: youth and SDG 16", aims to promote the debate around this SDG. From the perspective of people and groups affected by the violence of war, and focusing on the role of our students, the conference aims to be a space for reflection that contributes to our work in promoting SDG 16 and the 2030 Agenda as a whole.

SPEAKERS
JEISON CASTAÑO (Jeihhco) is an activist for peace, coexistence and non-violence in the Medellín neighbourhoods, where a large part of the population are families displaced by the armed conflict. Through hip hop, he promotes the recovery of memory, dignity and work with young people to offer them life alternatives that do not involve armed violence, which is still present in these neighbourhoods.
Born in Medellin's Comuna 13, Jeihhco spent his childhood and adolescence in a territory where the street was the center of life, but also, from time to time, a battlefield of the Colombian armed conflict. He became acquainted with hip-hop in 1996, at the age of 11, but it was not until 2002 that he realized the transformative potential of the music that made him vibrate..
