La Salle-URL experts train the General Council of La Salle in Rome in artificial intelligence

10.03.2025

Monday, March 10, 2025. The La Salle-URL AI Observatory team has provided training in artificial intelligence at the Casa Generalizia in Rome, La Salle's global headquarters. Many members of the General Council of the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools participated in the sessions, including Brother Carlos Gómez, vicar general, and general councilors from different Lasallian regions.

The sessions addressed the current state of AI and its future trends, analyzing its impact on education and daily life. Through conferences and practical workshops, participants explored how to apply AI to benefit La Salle's educational mission, always from an ethical perspective and in service to people. Josep Mª Ribes, Commissioner for Digitalization at La Salle-URL, together with Dr. Maria Alsina and Rafel Jaume, professors and researchers at the campus, led the training as members of the La Salle Campus Barcelona AI Observatory.

The training is in addition to many others that have been given in recent months by La Salle-URL AI experts to teachers, students and companies, as well as within the framework of La Salle Catalunya and La Salle Arlep, the Lasallian district that makes up the educational works of Spain and Portugal. This initiative reinforces La Salle-URL's commitment to the dissemination and ethical application of AI, extending its impact beyond the university environment to the global educational community.
