IQS-URL Leads Business Innovation at the ACEDE International Conference
Wednesday, June 22, 2022. IQS-URL hosted the 31st International Conference of the Scientific Association of Economics and Business Management (ACEDE), which was attended by more than 300 international academics and experts from 19 to 21 June. Under the motto "Innovation and entrepreneurship in a global and digital environment: Emerging challenges in the context of the climate crisis in a post-pandemic world", the conference provided a space for discussion and in-depth reflection on the changes and trends affecting business management within the context of the COVID-19 post-pandemic and the current climate crisis.
Through speeches, roundtables, doctoral workshops, and plenary and special sessions, new business strategies were reformulated to adapt to and participate in sustainability for the planet and to continue creating wellbeing and wealth for humanity. The event included two roundtable discussions with prominent figures from the business world: "Entrepreneurship with impact, an opportunity for the economy and the planet" and "Business innovation in terms of the climate crisis and the effects of COVID-19".
Attendees also witnessed guest conferences presented by two leading international academics, Saras Sarasvathy and Ko de Ruyter. A professor at the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia (USA), Sarasvathy is a leading researcher on the cognitive foundations for high-performance entrepreneurship and advises entrepreneurship programmes around the world. In addition, she recently won the Global Award for Entrepreneurship Research, the most important international award in business research. As to Ko de Ruyter, he is a professor of Marketing and the Vice Dean of Research at King's Business School (King's College, London), and his research focuses on customer loyalty, marketing strategy, technology in organizations, and social media. He is an internationally renowned speaker at business conferences due to his ability to explain the opportunities that using cutting-edge innovative technologies implies for performance and business transformation.
The 31st ACEDE conference also featured leading companies, top academic journals in the field of business, and innovative presentations such as those by Gestionet, regarding skill-building work in the classroom through business simulators, and Imotions, an intelligent human behaviour analysis platform. The presentation of the IQS School of Management-URL Neuromarketing Laboratory generated great interest among professors at the event.
The IQS-URL community’s organization of and participation in the Conference is worth highlighting, including the Dean of the IQS School of Management-URL, the Director of IQS-URL, undergraduate and doctoral student volunteers, and the Vice-Rectorate of Research and Innovation at the URL.
