URL COMMUNICATIONS DURING THE STATE OF ALERT
Due to the risk situation in some Catalan counties, the Generalitat de Catalunya published on November 3rd a resolution establishing certain restrictions for the activation of the Special Emergency Plan for Floods in Catalonia (INUNCAT). This resolution includes the suspension of educational, sporting and university activity, as well as activity in centres attached to universities and university research centres in these counties.
In this sense, the activity of the University Institute of the Ebro Observatory-URL was affected and, on November 4th, the centre organized its community to avoid displacements.
In coordination with the Department of Research and Universities and in accordance with the restrictions on mobility and the suspension of educational activities decreed by the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Ramon Llull University established on November 4th the following common criteria:
- That the University's centres apply flexibility to avoid displacement of students, teaching and research staff, and technical management, administration and services staff residing in the affected areas.
- That the teaching staff take into account, in relation to teaching activities, that students travelling from the affected areas may have problems attending classes.
- Teachers should postpone assessment activities whenever possible. If this is not possible, students who are unable to travel will be assessed at a later date.
The URL also adhered to the CRUE communiqué (November 1st) for the support and solidarity with the victims of the DANA and the communiqué of the Xarxa Vives d'Universitats (October 31st) in relation to the devastating effects of the DANA.
