Students from La Salle School of Architecture-URL win the contest «Christmas lights light up the stores» in the Horta district of Barcelona

01.12.2020

Tuesday, 1 December 2020. The students of the School of Architecture of La Salle Campus BarcelonaAida Forns and Rautia Abner, have won the fourth edition of the contest «Christmas lights light up the stores» organized by the BCD Barcelona Centre de Disseny and the Ajuntament de Barcelona on November 27th, with the aim of designing the store windows in the district of Horta in Barcelona, with Christmas lighting as a fundamental part of the projects.

The team of La Salle-URL, one of the ten groups that participated, has won the prize for the best showcase with the decoration of the Ferreteria Llar Marimon, situated in Sampere i Miquel 35 street in Barcelona, under the slogan 'Per Nadal, qui res no arregla, res no val'.

Responsible consumption, diversity and equality

With a spending limit of 480 euros including VAT, and with recyclable and sustainable materials, the two students have recreated the image of a gift with three built-in elements: a toolbox, a basket and a kitchen tool. These three objects show the main sections of the store: hardware, home and kitchen. Above the three main elements they have placed light bulbs, representing the idea that, with these tools, imagination has no limits.

The initiative promotes a dynamic action to innovate and promote local commerce in the neighborhoods and young talent. Local businesses of different areas have participated, which have a visible showcase and collaborate with the Associació de Comerciants Cor d'Horta, which belongs to the Fundació Barcelona Comerç. Tenderness, welcome, respect, responsible consumption, equality and diversity are the values of the Christmas campaign for this 2020.
