Webinar «The European Union in a geopolitical world»
Online
EsadeGeo-Esade Center for Global Economy and Geopolitics and the State Secretariat for the European Union at the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs present a joint webinar, which will analyse the current geopolitical standing of the European Union and the role it can aspire to.
The session will delve into questions such as the EU’s position in global trade, its active role at the World Trade Organization, and the so-called Brussels Effect. It will also look into the EU’s role in global security, its push to reset relations with the US after Biden’s election, and its recent strategy to counter China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
The discussion will serve as the basis for a set of proposals made in the context of the Conference on the Future of Europe, to be debated at Esade Business School in Barcelona on 16 November 2021.
