The aim of URL’s Language Services office is to normalise the use of Catalan within the university setting as part of the European Higher Education Area’s multilingual framework. Other aims are promote the availability of subjects in Catalan for faculty, administrative and service staff and students, encourage the linguistic integration of foreign students, and ensure the quality of the university’s internal and external communications.
This office works closely with the university’s Language Policy Commission and with the following entities: Vives Network Language Commission, CIFALC (Catalan Interuniversity Commission for Language Training and Certification) and Language Policy Office of Catalan Government's Ministry of Universities and Research.
