Session «Characters and details of the IIWW»

Conferences and workshops
Start date
Venue

IQS-URL | Blue room | Via Augusta, 390. Barcelona

The Second World War (1939-1945) was a planetary conflict in which no less than thirty nations were involved and in which more than 50 million people lost their lives. It was the clash of old and new empires in search or defence of their “living space”, and it was also the clash of three ideologies with unique leaderships: liberal-democratic, Marxist and national-socialist, in which the first two were strange bedfellows in the face of fascism.

Today we know about their great battles, basically through the cinema, but not so much, perhaps, about some of their main or secondary protagonists, whose lives often turned into tragedies. In this session, organized by AIQS Alumni, we will talk about them and we will also look at some significant details of the conflict, which unjustly escape the great stories.
