Webinar «Energy Security in the EU: Preparing for an EU without Russian Energy»
Online
EsadeGeo and the Repsol Foundation are organising a series of two webinars to provide deep analysis of the impacts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the EU’s energy system and relations. This second webinar will focus on the key elements related to gas of REPowerEU; in particular, the diversification of natural gas supplies and increasing relevance of liquified natural gas, boosting the production of renewable gases such as hydrogen and biomethane, as well as the increased importance of gas storage and its mandatory filling requirements to face periods of crises.
Some of the questions that will be addressed include: What are the existing and potential bottlenecks that need to be overcome to turn the new renewable hydrogen and biomethane targets into reality? What are the effects of prioritizing the proposed technologies, policies and targets over others? How can private investment be ramped up to support REPowerEU’s policy goals? What are the differences within Europe on gas storage possibilities?
