«Reindustrialization and decarbonization in the European Union»
Online
By 2050, the EU aims to become the first climate neutral continent, meaning no net GHG emissions. This will require a major transformation of the EU economy away from fossil fuels and towards clean energy sources. The private sector is central to this transformation. Businesses are responsible for a significant share of GHG emissions and have the resources and expertise to invest in clean technologies. However, the private sector also faces challenges in decarbonization. These include the high cost of clean technologies, the lack of clear regulation and the risk of stranded assets.
This webinar, organized by EsadeGeo and the Repsol Foundation, will discuss the European Union’s challenges and strategy for decarbonization, taking as a starting point the discussion of the brief produced by EsadeGeo on the topic.
