The results place URL as the first Spanish university in both disciplines

Thursday, 19 July 2018. Ramon Llull University is among the 150 best universities in the world in the subjects of Management and Business Administration, according to the Global Ranking of Academic Subject of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), prepared yearly by the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Beyond the URL as a whole, ESADE-URL Business School has also been ranked among the top 150 worldwide (specifically, in the group of institutions ranking from 101 to 150) in the same disciplines.

With these results, URL is placed as one of the best in Spain, sharing the first position with the University of Valencia in the subject of Business Administration, and with Carlos III of Madrid, in the case of Management.

This year’s edition shows the evolution of URL in both subjects, as it goes from 151-200 of last year –when the first edition of the ranking was published– to 101-150 of this year.

In order to be analysed in this classification, universities need a minimum number of scientific publications during the 2012-2016 period. In the case of Management and Business Administration subjects, there are 50. Subsequently, the universities are included in the ranking based on five indicators:

  • number of publications of an institution in the period 2012-2016;
  • the impact of normalized citations for the subject;
  • international collaborations;
  • number of papers published in Top Journals in an Academic Subject,
  • and the total number of the staff of the institution wining a significant award in an Academic Subject since 1981.
