Esade MBA ranked best in Europe for entrepreneurs for second consecutive year
American publication Poets&Quants ranks Esade's Full-Time MBA programme as best in Europe and 7th worldwide
Tuesday, 27 October 2020. Poets & Quants has ranked Esade's Full-Time MBA as the best in Europe (7th worldwide) for the second consecutive year in its latest ranking of Best MBA Programs for Entrepreneurship. This ranking reflects the significant volume of entrepreneurs among the programme's students (2nd worldwide), the entrepreneurial orientation of its core subjects (3rd in Europe and 8th worldwide), and the number of student start-ups (10th worldwide). In addition, Poets&Quants highlights the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Esade-URL (considered best in Europe and 12th worldwide). Esade-URL is also among those with the highest number of clubs and associations focussed on entrepreneurship (2nd Europe), and the highest number of active students (5th worldwide).
Josep Franch, dean of Esade Business School said: “The results of this ranking reflect our commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship. Specific subjects and academic initiatives encourage the skills necessary for our students to successfully develop their own companies. Our entrepreneurial ecosystem is part of the Esade-URL educational experience”.
Best entrepreneurial ecosystem in Europe
"We understand the educational experience as something that happens in an ecosystem. The diversity of talent, with more than 126 nationalities on our campus and 120 alliances and international links, creates a learning ecosystem that makes the Esade-URL educational experience distinctive and transformative", Josep Franch added. Esade-URL has developed the Rambla of Innovation, a learning ecosystem linked to entrepreneurship that includes six learning labs, and where education merges with innovation and experimentation. Every year, more than 90 lecturers and some 2,500 students from more than 100 nations pass through the Rambla of Innovation on the Esade-URL Sant Cugat campus.
Esade-URL provides students with the opportunities offered by this entrepreneurial ecosystem. "We open the doors to a successful career through various professional development events and global initiatives – such as the 4YFN International Entrepreneurship Congress, of which we are academic partners, interaction with other entrepreneurs, and contact with entrepreneurship hubs around the world – including London, Berlin, and Silicon Valley. We also develop specific academic programmes and initiatives, such as the Challenge Based Innovation in collaboration with CERN," said Josep Franch.
Esade's commitment to entrepreneurship is evident in its rich ecosystem, made up of initiatives such as the Entrepreneurship Institute (EEI), a centre dedicated to entrepreneurship through research, teaching, the launching of new businesses, and outreach activities made up of lecturers and researchers in various areas of entrepreneurship. The EEI develops the eWorks programme, which supports students and recent graduates in the creation of new companies with the eWorks Accelerator – where 116 projects have been presented and regular activities, such as eFounder Meetups, take place.
