Esade-URL bolsters its social impact and consolidates its leadership in sustainability and ESG, says Merco
For the second year running, Esade-URL is #1 in the ranking of academic establishments, consolidating itself as a benchmark of responsible education

Esade-URL bolsters its impact on society and its leadership in sustainability and social responsibility: #1 academic establishment in the Informe Merco Responsabilidad ESG España 2024 (2024 Merco ESG Report: Spain) for the second year running. Esade-URL also moved up the general classification, consolidating itself as a benchmark of higher education committed to making a positive impact in Spain. Each year, the Merco ESG ranking analyzes the performance of major organizations in terms of their environmental impact, social commitment and governance practices.
“This acknowledgement highlights our unwavering commitment to making a social impact, incorporating sustainability criteria into education, and training leaders able to bring about a positive change in society and the environment. Esade-URL is working on leading the shift towards a more responsible educational and business model, and consolidating ourselves as an international academic benchmark in positive impact,” emphasized María Díaz, director of Communication, Brand and Institutional Relations at Esade-URL.
Beyond education
Esade-URL’s leadership embraces more than the education sector. Their comprehensive approach combines training, research and responsible management, whilst fostering practices intended to boost positive social and environmental impacts not only inside but also outside the classroom.
Esade-URL’s commitment is not restricted to its academic programs. It can also be seen in its management model designed to reduce environmental impact, promote social equality and ensure ethical governance. “Our achievement in the 2024 Merco ESG ranking is proof of our dedication to the sustainability and ethics that form an integral part of our institutional mission and vision,” added Díaz.
The 2024 Merco ESG Report: Spain analyses best practices in 34 economic sectors and is based on surveys of more than 63,786 participants, 25 sources of information and seven key stakeholder groups, including financial analysts, journalists, sustainability experts and consumers.
These results underpin Esade-URL’s aim of leading the shift towards a more sustainable, inclusive future, heightening its impact on society and consolidating its position as a benchmark in responsible higher education.
