Solidarity with the Ukrainian people

Ramon Llull University, in accordance with the values of Christian humanism, expresses its total rejection of any action of violence against human dignity, the harmony of peoples and peace among people that seriously violates human rights. The URL community reiterates its commitment to the promotion of a peaceful coexistence far from confrontation.

    - Ecumenical Peace Prayer on March 3, 2022
    - Collection of material (see here the complete list of items) at the lobby of the main building of IQS-URL, from March 8 to 11, from 8 am to 5 pm. Volunteers to pack donations and perform other tasks can sign up here.
  • BLANQUERNA-URL
    Blanquerna-URL joins Caritas campaign to help Ukrainian war victims with the aim of collecting 5000€

    Blanquerna School of Psychology, Education and Sport Sciences​​​​​​s-URL:​
    - Ash Mass on March 2 in the Faculty chapel. Meditation and prayer, following Pope Francisco's initiative to hold a day of prayer and fasting for peace in Ukraine.
    - Exhibition of books on peace education in front of the entrance to the Faculty library
    - Call to any person of the Faculty community interested in contributing and participating in any specific action or initiative through the mail suportperlapau@blanquerna.url.edu.

    Blanquerna School of Communication and International Relations-URL:
    - Round table on the current situation in Ukraine on Wednesday, March 9, at 3 p.m., within the framework of the 18th Blanquerna Communication Conference with Jordi Calvo (Centre Delàs d'Estudis per la Pau), Carmen Claudín (senior associate researcher at CIDOB), Félix Flores (reporter for La Vanguardia) and Blanca Camps as moderator.
    - Tribute event "Dostoevsky: Literature against despotism", on March 23 at 3 pm in the auditorium of the Faculty, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the writer. The event will focus on the question "Can knowledge of the figure and works of Dostoevsky help to understand the Russian occupation of Ukraine?
    - Charity event of Ukrainian culture and music with the aim of showing Ukrainian culture and raising funds for its community organized on May 9, in collaboration with Acción Solidaria, in the auditorium of the Faculty.
    - The NGO Sonrisas de Bombay, founded and chaired by alumni Jaume Sanllorente, is looking for host families in Catalonia for Ukrainian refugees, mainly women with children or married couples. Interested send email to acogidas@sonrisasdebombay.org.

    Blanquerna School of Health Science-URL:
    - Collection of medical supplies at the Faculty Hall from March 7 to 11
    - Creation of an area where the different conflicts of the world are visualized as well as a space where students can write messages of peace.
  • La Salle-URL
    SOS Ukraine: solidarity campaign in collaboration with ACNUR and Caritas to collect food, clothes and objects on March 9 and 30 and April 4 at the basketball court of La Salle-URL, from 8 am to 11 am and from 1 pm to 4 pm. Also permanent collection points in the secretariats of the faculties of Architecture and Business.
  • Esade Business School-URL
    -  Publication of the «Help Ukraine» space on the Esade-URL website to showcase all solidarity initiatives.
    - Collection of clothing, medical supplies and other basic necessities.
    - Conversation on March 8, as part of the Do Better by Esade cycle, on the management of the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and support for refugees between Sara Escudero, delegate for Emergencies of the Spanish Red Cross and currently based in Warsaw, and Ignasi Martí, director of the Institute for Social Innovation of Esade-URL.
  • Faculty of Social Education and Social Work Pere Tarrés-URL
    - Implementation of a leisure program, commissioned by the Barcelona City Council, aimed at some thirty Ukrainian children between the ages of 4 and 18 from families who have arrived from Ukraine.
    - Participation in the “Family needs a family” initiative, which accompanies Catalan families in the process of temporarily hosting refugee families from Ukraine at home.
    - Opening of a line of specific scholarships aimed at children of refugee families from Ukraine who participate in recreation centers and socio-educational centers.
