Guardó d'honor Award

After prior agreement by the Management Board and approval by the Board of Trustees, Ramon Llull University may grant the URL Guardó d’Honor Award to the most important national or international individuals or entities linked to the universal ideal of peace between peoples and the transmission of the important ideals and values of tolerance, peace, justice and solidarity

He earned his degree as Medical Surgeon from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and carried out postgraduate studies in Community Medicine at the University of Birmingham (England). In 2003 he was named Director of the UNAM’s School of Medicine, serving later as UNAM Rector from 2007 to 2011. Today, UNAM has more than 300,000 students and 36,000 faculty members, making it the largest university in Mexico and Latin America. In addition, UNAM’s main campus is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the public service area, Dr. Narro has made significant contributions to encourage social security protections and preventative medicine. He has received numerous national and international recognitions, including Eduardo Liceaga Award, a PhD honoris causa from Universidad Ricardo Palma in Peru and his naming as a Foreign Scholar within the Spanish National Royal Academy of Medicine.
