The students represent the Ramon Llull University in this initiative that reflects on the digital future

Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Seven students from La Salle-URL Llull from various fields of knowledge have been participating, since this month of January, in a program on digital transformation within the framework of ENGAGE.EU, the alliance of European universities that Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) belongs to. In fact, the seven degree and master students on campus are the ones who represent URL in this collaborative project, in which they will work with students from the rest of the university centers that make up ENGAGE.EU.

The digital transformation project seeks to prepare students for the digital future, helping them grow in knowledge and skills, while reflecting on digital disruptions and the need to generate a social impact. The initiative allows participants to work with top-level European technological and digital companies, reviewing real cases of technological innovation.

The program runs until the end of the academic year and includes online seminars on various topics: digital ethicsleadership in the digital era, intellectual property, digital technology, digital strategy and artificial intelligence. In addition, an onsite meeting will take place in the summer at the Universität Mannheim, in Germany.

The kick-off of the project was held in the campus Auditori in which the seven students from La Salle-URL participated, and received a welcome package from the Universität Mannheim. Representatives from the campus and the URL also participated in the event, encouraging students to take advantage of this opportunity to work with colleagues from all over Europe on a project on digital transformation.

ENGAGE.EU, an alliance of universities to address social challenges

The objective of ENGAGE.EU is to provide European citizens with the set of skills and competencies necessary to face the main challenges of society, such as digitalization and artificial intelligence, climate change, aging societies and migration. The alliance aims to inspire the active participation of society in the current and future state of Europe.

In addition to URL, the universities that make up the alliance are Universität Mannheim (Germany), Luiss Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli (Italy), Norwegian School of Economics (Norway), Tilburg University (Netherlands), University of National and World Economy (Bulgaria), Université de Toulouse 1 Capitole (France) and WU Vienna University of Economics and Business (Austria).
